Problem:  Students turn in assignments late
Questions:  Using technology, what can be done to decrease the amount of late assignments?

  • choose a block on which to focus
  • choose a strategy  to use
  • Does the strategy include positive reinforcement?

Step 2:  establish a working prediction (hypothesis) for measuring the amount of tardy assignments

Lowe:  Using the School Loop Discussion Function to measure understanding of the content and assignment directions,  students will reduce the amount of tardy assignments because in addition to the assignment, they will also receive an extra writing assignment.

Every Friday, the amount of tardy assignments will be counted from the school loop grade book.

Week 1: 2 tardy assignments
Week 2:  7 tardy assignments
Week 3: 15 Tardy assignments
Week 4:  12 Tardy Assignments
Week 5:  0 Tardy Assignments (End of Quarter)
Week 6:  29 Tardy Assignments

Newport: Using classdojo.com to track student assignments in all of their classes, students will reduce the amount of zeros because they receive intangible and tangible positive reinforcement via a classroom token economy.

Baseline: 66
Week 1: 2
Week 2:
