PLC Summary 12/19/12

What thoughts, ideas and learnings did you take away from the PLC Showcase?

           

We learned a lot of information and received several ideas from the stations we visited.  It was great to see what other professionals are doing to improve learning in their classes.  We wish we could have had more time to visit more of the stations because our time ran out before our intentions.  We learned strategies and technology that we want to implement in our classrooms.  We did not expect as many "unfamiliar" faces cycling through.

Thinking back over your PLC work this semester, what were some of the lessons you have learned? 

We  learned that technology is not the end all be all.  Sometimes technology fails.  When technology works, it can be an invaluable tool!  Technology can be incredibly beneficial for our teaching and for students' learning.  It can make learning possible for difficult learners and can increase student engagement.

 

How might the information gained in questions 1 and 2 impact our professional work? 

Because technology is constantly changing, we need to keep updating our knowledge and skills.  It is OK to take risks and OK to fail.  What is important is that we just keep developing and growing so we can help our student develop and grow.
